The Joining Community Forces Council returns on Friday October 11 hosted by Our Veterans First at The Independent Living Center in Joplin. Light lunch is being provided by VFW Post 5293 and the lunch line will open to self service at 11:15. We will begin with introductions at 11:45, a main topic at 12:15 and our guest speaker, State Senator Jill Carter at 12:30. The Joining Community Forces mission is to maximize the impact of community resources to veteran, military members, and families in order to build resilience and foster a community network that is relevant and sustainable both now and into the future. This is an endeavor of local nonprofit organizations to bring together service providers, Veteran Service Organizations, faith-based organizations, private entities, government agencies and others that support serving military, veterans and family members. The goal of JCF is to create a community centered solution, whereby national, regional, state, and local entities can partner and exponentially impact the communities in which they live.
